As of October 1st 2023, the minimum hourly wage in Hokkaido has been changed from 920 yen to 960 yen. This change applies to all workers and business owners in Hokkaido. Let’s check it out!

This is a policy meant to safeguard the minimum wage amount for all of those, who are working for minimum wage, no matter their age or work style (i.e. part-time work).

To help small and medium business owners with the process of raising their wages, grants have been implemented to subsidize part of the cost. Please review the requirements for these grants, and apply accordingly.
