 ■Job Search Consultations
・To work in Japan, you must obtain a status of residence which permits employment. To engage in activities (such as work) unpermitted by your current residential status, you must go to an immigration bureau and obtain an official permission to engage in activities which are outside the limits of your residence status.
・In Japan, national public job security centers (“Hello Work”) provide job consultation and employment introduction free of charge. There are Hello Work locations with interpretation services available, but please confirm in advance.

 ■Labor Consultations
・Foreign nationals are generally covered by Japan’s workers’ accident compensation insurance plan and employment insurance system. The former is a compensation benefit for workers who become ill and/or are injured during work, or are involved in accidents on their way to work. The latter applies in the form of the unemployment compensation that the workers can receive for a certain period if they lose their job.
・Regarding troubles with employment, such as unpaid wages, dismissal, harassment, or working hours, contact the nearest Labor Standards Inspection Office, or prefectural/municipal employment affairs office.
