Objectives

The Corporation shall actively promote economic, cultural and academic exchanges between Hokkaido and northern regions (hereinafter referred to as northern region exchanges) and facilitate pertinent exchanges with other regions so as to contribute to our country's economic, cultural and academic development, as well as to the development and prosperity of Hokkaido

Activities

As means to attain the aforementioned objectives, the Corporation shall conduct following activities:

1. Initiatives and planning in promoting the northern region exchanges.
2. Survey and research, as well as collection and dissemination of information regarding the northern regions.
3. Organization of lectures and workshops regarding the northern regions.
4. Publication of books and periodicals on the northern regions.
5. Fruitful results achieved over the years through the exchanges with other countries in the northern regions should be well incorporated in a course of developing relations and interactions with the countries and regions in the rest of the world.
6. Management and operation of the Hokkaido International Center.
7. Other activities deemed necessary to achieve the objectives of the Corporation.
